Causes of Failure
“One of the most common causes of failure is the habit of quitting when one is overtaken by temporary defeat.” – Napoleon Hill
On my personal Instagram, I follow a lot of fitness accounts and often read about failure. People talk about failing their diet or not managing to get to a workout on time, and they see it as a personal failure. I also go through slumps in both training and nutrition, because life rarely goes in a straight line. There are periods when it’s simply not possible to prioritize workouts or meals—but I don’t see that as failure. I know, just like I see on all the inspiring accounts I follow, that we always get back on track. We pick it up again!
So next time you hit a slump, don’t see it as failure—see it as a small, temporary bump in the road and don’t give up!
(A little fact: On average, we gain about one kilo per year over time, but those who keep trying, even through slumps, often stay weight-stable. Just that alone is a win for continuing to try.)
Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.
